Android is a mobile Operating System owned by Google . Its is a open-source and anyone can install it on mobile devices .
Google mostly doesn't charge any licensing fees from mobile companies to use it.
THEN HOW GOOGLE EARNS FROM YOUR ANDROID MOBILE?
So, to get a free android license , mobile companies have to put default Google apps like playstore , google search , gmail , etc on their devices.
So.it becomes very easy for Google to recognise our patterns and behaviour. Because the main Android framework is also signed in through a google account.
But if android is really open source then why companies are obligate to accept Google's all these conditions?
The only Android that is free and open source is the "bare" Android System without play store and other core Google services. Customers do not like this "bare" Android system. So, companies accept Google's conditions and use it with default Google Apps.
These default apps generate high reveneu for Google. Google play alone generated reveneus of nearly $40billion in 2020. {20% YOY growth}.
